Continuing their activities last October in Jambi on expansion of Sungai Jernih village’s demonstration plot, preparation of land perforation for an area of 50 hectares was carried out together with the farmers at the location. Meanwhile in Central Kalimantan, cleaning up of the Village Nursery Garden (Kebun Bibit Desa) and the planting of Sengon trees at the demonstration plot in East Kotawaringin District has been done. At the same location, palm trees were felled for the expansion of the demonstration plot accounting to an area of 10 hectares, where there are four new cropping patterns were implemented according to the Jangka Benah Strategy (SJB), namely trees along border, alternate row, selection, and insertion patterns.
In addition, to broaden knowledge related to the SJB concept itself, FKT-UGM team participated in the “Workshop on Regional Action Plans for Sustainable Oil Palm Plantation” in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, where the submission of books related to the SJB concept was submitted to relevant stakeholders. At the village level, the preparation of the RKU / RKT KTH-HTR documents for SJB assisted farmers has been completed and produced 5 drafts. In addition to the activities mentioned above, the compilation of the SJB farmer database and routine monitoring at the demonstration plot continues.
